About me

I am a friendly, patient and professional female carer with more than 20 years' experience of supporting adults, the elderly and young people who have special needs including mental and physical disabilities, dementia, Parkinson's and the blind. This has been in both residential settings and with people in their own homes, for both individuals and couples, providing support and assistance for families struggling to cope with caring for their loved ones.

I believe that all people are individuals and it is important to understand and meet the needs of each person in your care to ensure they live a fulfilled and as independent life as is possible within their own home. I am able to work with people with a wide variety of needs to help them live meaningful lives to the best of their potential.

Getting old or having disabilities doesn't mean that the fun has to stop! Before working with a new client I take the time to get to know them and their families and discuss what they need and have interests in, then organise and assist with activities they will find engaging and enjoyable. I am totally committed to what I do and love to see a smile on my clients' faces.

I provide a tailored service to meet clients' needs which can include:

• Sitting service and companionship
• Respite service - to enable carers to have a holiday or break of any sort
• Assistance with bathing, showering and personal care
• Helping out of bed and putting to bed

• Accompanying to appointments and collecting pensions and prescriptions

• Holiday assistance - accompanying clients on both home and overseas trips

• Dementia support
• 'Singing for the brain' - helping people with dementia to express themselves through song

I am fully CRB checked, insured and can provide references as required.

I am based in Bristol but am able to travel for live-in assignments.
